Man of the Meet (Farmington):  Coach Rich Hanson. Always great to see him on deck.  Very deserving 30 Year Award from the MHSCA.

 

Man of the Week:  Mr. Brian Gordon.  Whatever we need.  Whatever is best for kids.  Works hard behind the scenes to make it happen.

 

Woman of the Week: Mrs. Pam Moore.  The constant and the 'glue' that keeps RO Athletics going. She is amazing and makes ALL OF US BETTER.

 

Our next action will be OAA Championships on FEB 23, 24, 25 at Lake Orion.  5:30 start each day.

Man of the Week:  Senior Julio Jaime.  All Julio does is work hard.  Super coachable.  Julio had a monster drop in the 500 Free (30.45)

 

Men of the Meet (Stoney Creek):  Jake Ryan and Alex Buckheim.  They run a smooth and efficient meet.  There is a reason why teams want to come to RO for meets.

 

Woman of the Meet (Stoney Creek):  Colleen Rose.  She does an amazing job running the computer and handling all entry issues from both teams.

 

Next week we will host Farmington on Tuesday.  This will be our last dual meet for the season.  We will take this opportunity to honor longtime coach Rich Hanson.

Ben O'Neill broke his own 6 Dive school record on Thursday against Utica Ford!

 

 

Men of the Meet (Ford):  The Seniors.  OAA, County, and State Medalists.  4 School Records.  OAA Championship in 2020.  11 Academic All State. 12 Academic All Americans.

 

Man of the Week #1:  Senior Peter Merten.  His 50 Free (.22 drop) was a County time and he had a nice 2.23 drop in the 100 Free.

 

Man of the Week #2:  Junior Aden Dowdell.  This week he dropped .37 in the 50 Free and 1.49 in the 100 Free.  Both 50 Free and 100 Free were County times.

 

Man of the Week #3:  Freshman Jaxon McCaffrey.  This week Jaxon had drops in his 50 Free (1.01), 100 Free (3.37), and 100 Back (8.36).

 

Next week we will host Stoney Creek on Tuesday for our traditional PINK OUT meet.  

On Friday, our divers will compete in Oakland County Diving Championships at Lake Orion.

On Saturday, our swimmers will compete in Oakland County Swimming Championships at Lake Orion.

Our lone first place finisher was Senior Hayden Forsythe in Diving.

 

Man of the Meet #1 (LO) Senior Hayden Forsythe. He took 1st in diving and dropped 1.31 in the 100 Free. At Oxford Diving Invite he was 9th place.

 

Man of the Meet #2 (LO). Junior Xander Ballew. On THUR he had drops in the 50 Free (.31), the 100 Free (2.25), and 200 Free (14.32).

 

Man of the Meet #3 (LO): SOPH Owen Hayes.  He went 3 for 3 best times.  Owen had drops in the 50 Free - flat (.61), 50 FR - relay (1.7), and 500 FR (58.52)

 

Man of the Week #1: SR Blake Vier. 2nd in Diving against LO, 13th in diving at Oxford Invite, drop in 50 fly (.48). Total team player in 100 Fly on THUR.

 

Man of the Week #2: JR Trevor Smigelski. 3 for 3 on THUR. Added 23.20 points in diving. Drops in 50 BR (.65) and 100 BR (1.58). 14th at Oxford Diving Invite.

 

 

On Saturday, our divers traveled to Lake Orion to take place in the Oxford Diving Invitational.

 

The team of Ben O’ Neill, Hayden Forsythe, Blake Vier, Cortez Anthony, and Trevor Smigelski took first place.

Man of the Meet #1:(BH) Junior Chase Drouillard.  Chase went ¾ on THUR.  Chase had drops in the 100 BR (.33), 50 Free (1.39), and 100 Free (1.73).

 

Man of the Meet #2:  (BH) Freshman Max Podmokly.  Max had a monster drop of 16.85 seconds in his 200 Free on Thursday!

 

Men of the Meet #3:(BH). Coach Ryan and Coach Clark doing a great job of taking care of business when we went on the road.

 

Man of the Week #1:  Senior Jude Smalley.  Jude is making the most of his opportunities!  Jude had a nice 2.11 second drop in the 100 Free at BH.

 

Man of the Week #2:  Senior Daniel Leahy.  Daniel has stepped up his training and posted a big drop in his 200 IM (10.14) at BH.

 

Next week will host Lake Orion on Thursday, January 20th.  That night we will recognize our first year Seniors.

Man of the Meet #1 (Oxford):  Senior Brady Curtin.  Brady had two key 2nd place finishes for us on THUR.  50 Free (2.4 drop) COUNTY CUT and 500 Free (19.35).

 

Man of the Meet #2 (Oxford):  Freshman Andres Jaime.  Andres had monster drops in the 200 Free (30.69) and the 100 Free (10.22)!

 

Man of the Meet #3 (Oxford):  Freshman Nolan Kaiser.  Nolan had great drops in the 200 Free (8.90) and the 100 Free (3.12)!

 

 

 

Man of the Week #1:  Senior Nathan Babbie.  Nathan had a monster 1st place in the 50 Free (.65 drop) COUNTY CUT.  Had a big drop (5.08) in the 100 Fly.   

 

Man of the Week #2:  Senior Kyle Strong.  Kyle had great performances in the 200 Free (2.03 drop) and 100 Fly (3.86 drop) against Oxford.

 

Man of the Week #3:  Senior Ben Sneary.  On THUR against Oxford, Ben had drops in the 50 Back (.58), 50 Free (1.79) and 100 Free (7.93).

 

 

Thank you to everyone that made the meet with Oxford a great experience for all the athletes, parents, and coaches.

 

Next Thursday we will travel to Bloomfield Hills HS for a 6pm meet.

Man of the Meet #3 (NF):  Nolan Till.  Nolan had impressive drop in both the 50 Free (3.50) and the 100 Free (9.58) on TUES!

Great team win.  Every touch out matters!

 

Man of the Meet #1 (WB):  Luca Ceccacci.  Luca had a HUGE touch out in the 200 free (5.72 drop) and followed that up with a 2.74 drop in the 500 Free!

 

Man of the Meet #2 (WB):  Toby Buckheim.  Toby had a HUGE 3rd place in the 500 Free (15.41 drop) and he had drop in the 50 Free (.59)!

 

Man of the Meet #3 (WB):  Jack Schultz.  Jack had a drop in the 100 Free (2.46) and a monster drop (12.03) in the 200 Free!

 

Man of the Week #1:  Ben O'Neil.  Ben had 2 1st place finishes in diving., Qualified for the MISCA meet, and had a HUGE 4th place in the 100 Fly on THUR!

 

Man of the Week #2:  Bailey Needham.  He had a HUGE 2nd place in the 100 Free (2.02 drop), that swim was an Oakland County cut, and 1.56 drop in 100 BR!

 

Man of the Week #3:  Aiden Davis.  4 individual swims for the week = 4 bests.  50 Free  (3.97), 200 Free (4.26), and 2x in 100 Free (5.10 total)!

 

We are now in our Holiday Training phase of the season.  Our next meet will be Thursday January 6th when we host our friends from Oxford.

Man of the Meet #1 (Romeo): Senior Colin Czarnik 1st 200 FR, 1st 500 FR (32.34 drop), 1st 200 Free Relay, and 1st 400 Free Relay.

 

Man of the Meet #2 (Romeo): Senior Weston Schroeder.  Strong 1st place finish in 100 FR (3.7 drop) and a 2.51 drop in the 50 Back.

 

Man of the Meet #3 (Romeo): Senior Sean Madsen.  Sean had monster drops in the 50 Free (6.15) and the 100 Free (16.92).  Keep it going!

 

Man of the Week #1: SOPH Cortez Anthony.  Cortez had huge drops in the 50 Free (4.55) and the 100 Free (11.41).  Big things coming for him.

 

Man of the Week #2: SR Matt Kaley. Matt was 1st in the 200 Medley Relay, 200 IM, 100 Fly, and 400 Free Relay. 200 IM & Fly were County cuts.

 

Man of the Week #3: Senior Harrison Fobare. Harrison had monster drops in the 50 Free (4.87) and 100 Free (16.17) on Thursday! Let's Go!
