Sports-4:  soccer,   8.28.2019

In their second match this week, the Boys Junior Varsity-B soccer team beat the Blackhawks of Bloomfield Hills 4 – 1.  Kai Sotomayor, Mattis Moellenhoof and Jason Lang carried the offense in the 1^st half, resulting in a goal by Mattis. After numerous threats from the Ravens offense, Tristan Fillmore gathered a rebound, following a Nathan Springs shot, and was able to settle and scored his first goal of the year.  A break-out pass from Becken Schmitt to Jason Lang, lead to a tap-in goal by Kai Sotomayor to finish the scoring by the  Ravens.  Zach Beckett, Lucas Knisely, and Chase Drouillard lead the defense, locking down the high-powered Blackhawks offense.   Tending the Ravens goal was split between Nathan Lukaszek (returning from injury) and Raedo Bala, Raedo also scored his first goal of the season. 

Raven Player of the Match – Nathan Lukaszek continues his stalwart protection in net, no goals allowed.

The Frosh boys will play their next match on the road against the Seaholm Maple Leafs on Wednesday, September 4^th.  The Ravens will be focused on avenging an early season loss to the boys from Seaholm.  Kick-off for this match-up is set 4:00 in Birmingham.
