SHRINE HIGH SCHOOL: 27
The Ravens picked up a 30-27 win over crosstown rival Shrine on Friday night. Both teams played hard throughout the game with the Ravens getting a couple of key stops in the end to secure the victory. Junior Sarah Soraghan led all scorers with 14 points. Soraghan added 3 assists and 2 steals. Junior Sarah Ammon added 8 points, 6 rebounds to go with a strong defensive effort. Elinor Kochanski chipped in with 5 points and Kira Vance added 8 rebounds. The Ravens improved to 4-0 on the season.
Shrine was led by senior Allison LaPoint who had 12 points. The Knights are 2-1 on the year.
ROHS and Shrine participated in the 3rd Annual Holiday Hoopfest for Hunger. Fans of both schools were asked to bring food donations prior to the game. 22 Full boxes of canned food items and cereal were collected to be donated to the local Salvation Army. A great night for the entire Royal Oak Community.
