After thoughtful consideration, the majority of the schools participating within the COMSAC (Central Oakland Middle School Athletic Association) have decided collectively to reinstate Winter 1 sports. Each school will determine which sports they will sponsor based on many factors, including but not limited to the ability to implement appropriate health and safety standards, their current learning model, facility access, and the availability of competition. 

With those factors in mind, Royal Oak Middle School will sponsor 7th and 8th grade boys basketball and girls swim during Winter season #1 (begins Nov 4th/9th). Because of the availability of competition, we have decided to split into individual boys and girls swim seasons, rather than postpone our normal co-ed swim season as previously communicated.  As a result, the boys swim season will take place during our Winter season #2 (begins Jan 20), combining it with volleyball and wrestling. It is expected that the majority of all of our middle school swim meets will be virtual competitions against other participating schools.

Therefore, all of this planning is subject to change as we navigate these challenging times.
