Hi Ravens,
I want to start off by saying that you, our fans, are the reason why high school sports are so special, lively, and spirited. There is nothing better for our coaches, student-athletes, and me than looking up into our stands and seeing a packed Ravens Nest. Your energy, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship has always been second to none and I walk away from each game proud to be a Raven!
With that being said, challenging times, like this current pandemic, require us to take certain steps to ensure the safety and well-being of our student-athletes, coaches, and spectators. In coordination with the Michigan High School Athletic Association, we will be instituting a two ticket allotment per participant for outdoor events. Indoor event allotments will depend on certain factors, yet will never be more than two tickets per participant. Therefore, fan capacity will be extremely limited. In addition, Royal Oak staff, Safe-Ed, and the Royal Oak Police Department will be monitoring all Royal Oak HS entrances, parking lots, and school grounds to ensure there are no gatherings taking place.
While we understand many of you will be unable to attend, we are excited to announce that we will be live streaming some of our fall games, beginning with this Friday night, Sept 18, Varsity Football vs Troy, 7pm, on our Royal Oak Schools Youtube page (link). We are finalizing a schedule of our future live stream events and hope to post it on our Royal Oak Schools athletic website soon, www.goroathletics.org.
High school sports have been and will continue to be huge points of pride for our community. We look forward to the day when we can all return to the stands and prove why there is no better place to compete and cheer on our teams than Royal Oak HS. In the meantime, we ask for your support and cooperation. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me anytime, donald.watchowski@royaloakschools.org.
GORO!
