Announcements and Important Events
ROHS Spring Athletes and Families,
Thank you for your support and cooperation as we navigate this exciting and unique spring season. As we approach mid-May, please note the following athletic updates:
Weekly Antigen Testing & Vaccinations (per the MHSAA): The updated MDHHS order no longer requires fully vaccinated individuals to participate in the MDHHS weekly testing program. An individual is considered to be fully vaccinated by the MDHHS definition two weeks after the second dose of a two-dose vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine (Johnson & Johnson).
If your child meets the criteria above and you wish to exempt them from the required weekly antigen testing program, you must provide documented proof of vaccination. This information can be emailed to our office directly, donald.watchowski@
Spring Sports Spectators (per the MHSAA): Spring spectator limits are 50% of the fire marshal capacity (if applicable) with a maximum of 1,000 outdoor spectators. Beginning May 10, we will no longer have spectator limitations at Royal Oak HS. However, face masks and social distancing (anyone outside of your household) will still be required. In addition, any spectators attending turf stadium events and track and field will be required to complete the clear to go screener prior to entry.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions. Let’s continue to work together to maximize the health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches, and spectators. GORO!
